Sharptown Assist Mardela with a Natural Cover Fire

On March 15 at 2:30pm, Wicomico Central alerted Sharptown for a Brush Truck to assist Mardela with a natural cover fire on Riverton Rd. Firefighters from Sharptown, Hebron, Delmar, Vienna, and Eldorado assisted with extinguishing the fire.

Brush and woods fire on SanDomingo Rd

On March 1st Wicomico Central alerted Sharptown of a field fire on SanDomingo Rd. Brush 14 and Engine 1404 Responded and once on scene Chief White established Command. A brush truck from Station 9 Mardela was requested to assist. Also responding was Rescue Engine 14 and Ambulance A14. Fire had gotten from the field into a patch of trees on a ditch and suppression efforts were hampered by a large brier patch.

Sharptown Assist Eldorado with a House Fire

On February 28, 2014, Wicomico Central alerted Sharptown to assist Dorchester Station 26 Eldorado with a house fire 0n Galestown Newhart Mill Rd. While on scene we assisted with fire suppression and overhaul.

Sharptown Ladies Auxillary recieves Achievement In Living Traditions & Arts for Oyster Fritters

Tradition is defined as “a long-established action or pattern of behavior in a community or group of people, often one that has been handed down from generation to generation”. The Maryland State Arts Council presented the 7th annual Maryland Traditions 2013 ALTA (Achievement In Living Traditions & Arts) awards with the ALTA/TRADITION being OYSTER FRITTERS OF THE SHARPTOWN FIREMEN’S CARNIVAL presented by Cindy Byrd of the Ward Museum of Wildfowl Art.

Sharptown assist Westside with a House Fire

On January 29th, just after 5:30AM, Wicomico Central alerted Sharptown Fire Dept. to stand by at Station 12 Westside. While enroute we were requested to come in to the scene for water and manpower. While on scene we provided water and our firefighters assisted firefighters from Westside, Hebron, Salisbury, Mardela, and Delmar with suppresion and overhaul.

Rollover on Old Sharptown Rd

On January 24th, just after 10PM, Wicomico Central alerted Sharptown Fire Dept. of an accident with rollover on Old Sharptown Rd. Fire and EMS crews arrived to find a vehicle into a pole and the occupant out of the vehicle. Old Sharptown Rd. was closed off during the incident.

Sharptown assist Mardela on the Vienna Bridge

On January 17th, just before 8AM, Wicomico Central alerted Sharptown Fire Dept. to assist Mardela Fire Dept. with an incident involving multiple accidents on the Vienna Bridge. Our crews arrived to the bridge and assisted with patient care and transferred the patient to the ambulance to be transported to the hospital.

Car rolled over on Norris Twilley Rd.

On October 9th, just before 5:30PM,Wicomico Central alerted Sharptown Fire Dept. of a accident with rollover on Norris Twilley Rd. Firefighters and EMS arrived to find a single vehicle on its roof, with the occupant out of the vehicle. Firefighters stabilized the vehicle while EMS personnel checked out the patient and obtained a refusal. Units cleared the scene by 6PM.

Past President / Firefighter Bob Cooper

It is with our deepest and sincere regrets to inform you that Past President/Firefighter Robert “Bob” Cooper has answered his last alarm on Monday, September 30, 2013. 

There will be a viewing held on Thursday, October 3 between the hours of 1900 to 2030 at the Sharptown Firemans Memorial Building. 

Services will be held on Friday, October 4. There will be a viewing starting at 1000 hours. Funeral service will start at 1100 hours at the Memorial Building. Interment will be in Springhill Memory Gardens in Hebron, MD.

All personnel wishing to participate are to report to Station 14 at 1830 hours Thursday and by 0930 hours on Friday.

Any fire department wishing to participate are to report to the Sharptown Firemans Memorial Building Friday at 1000 hours.
