On Thursday, June 17, just after the Company Meeting, Sharptown Fire Department received a call in to the station of a property damage accident with a lot of debris on the roadway at the intersection of Church St and the Bypass. Rescue Engine 14, Engine Tanker 14 and Ambulance A14 responded to the scene. Two patients were evaluated and did not need transport. Units were on scene for approx 30 mins. The scene was turned over to MSP.
Sharptown assists with MVC with Rescue
At approx. 11:30 on 6/5, Sharptown EMS was alerted to assist Laurel with an MVC with injuries on Sharptown Rd in the area of Shockley Rd. . Shortly after the initial alert the accident was upgraded to a MVC with Rescue, and Sharptown was alerted for the Rescue Engine to assist. Rescue Engine 14 arrived to find a vehicle on its roof with one patient inside and wires on the vehicle. Fire/EMS secured the scene while awaiting the arrival of the power company. once the power company arrived and confirmed the lines were not charged, the patient was able to self extricate from the vehicle.
West Side Decon Assist Talbot County with Ammonia Leak
On September 28, 2019, Sharptown Fire Department, along with Station 9 Mardela, Station 5 Herbron, Station 12 Westside, and Station 74 Delmar were alerted for Decon Units to assist Talbot County with an ammonia leak. Numerous companies were on scene from several counties. Crews assisted with decontamination and RIT for the interior crews. Crews were on scene for approximately 5 hours.
25th Annual Nanticoke Riverfest
On July 14, Seaford held the 25th Annual Nanticoke Riverfest. Among the festivities for the day is the Annual Float in. Participants from all over join in on rafts/floats of all kinds to celebrate the day. Fire Departments from Seaford, Blades, Millsboro, Federalsburg, Indian River, Sharptown and Laurel assist with boats, EMS, and divers out on the water while the float in is going on to ensure the safety of the participants.
